This is the compromise between the triple and the continuous: its middle part is more flat than the one that continuous has, but still has a radius that smoothly decreases to the edges. That is why a hybrid rocker is fine with approaching, chops and soft landings (the same as the continuous is). There are triple and fivefold hybrid rockers: made of 3 (2 on the tips and one in the middle) or 5 flat parts. However, the fivefold one is usually used in wakeboards for park, that eases riding trampolines, sliders and other figures. So this one is not for kiteboarding.
Conclusion:
Deep continuous rocker is great for chops (small waves) and soft landings, but its length affects the approaches.
The triple one is worse in characteristics than the hybrid, but it is the best in approaches. Taking in account that small chops and gusty winds are quite often and that hard wakestyle is more for profis, for an average kiter, in my opinion, a hybrid rocker will be more comfortable or not a deep continuous one.
So, if you still do not have a kiteboard - here is the topic to think about🙂. If you already have one, do you know what rocker your board has? Have you ever tried boards with different types of rockers and what are your impressions?
